We partner with the Calvin College Service Learning Center to provide after school math tutoring at the South East Academic Center. This tutoring helps youth perform better in school. It focuses on one of the academic areas with which students in this area have struggled.
Not only does this program enable students when it comes to their academic pursuits, it provides them with a positive atmosphere during the after school hours.
This program has been growing and developing for several years under the leadership of different organizations. Students are paired with college-age mentors who work with them one-on-one to develop their math abilities, boost self-esteem, and build hope for the future.
